Wide set, childish smirks creep across our faces. Heady fumes of pressed polyurethane flood our nasal cavities as our blush pink fingernails tear through the box’s monogrammed seal, allowing quivering hands to grasp at our icon’s petit frame.
It came as no surprise to us that Jeremy Scott, after fast food and Gangster Rap culture, has firmly set his gaze upon the perfectly molded miniature of the beauty industry standard that is Barbie.
For the first half of the show, Scott flooded the Moschino runway with effervescent bubblegum pink outfits, ranging from monogrammed tracksuits to chiffon coated mini dresses, which were complimented by a range of super kitsch accessories: bright pink vanity mirror phone cases, a bright yellow camera and a clutch shaped like a hanger.
The colour palette then diversified into a veritable rainbow of ultra feminine hues, encompassing everything from lemon yellow fishtail dresses and sultry red fur wraps, to a show stopping white pearlescent tuxedo.
